Get property approval first

Confirm the proposed location with the owner or property manager. Ask about fire lanes, accessible routes, loading docks, customer parking, security gates, and how long a temporary container may remain.

Map the truck approach

Note gate dimensions, turn radius, bollards, low canopies, parked trailers, delivery traffic, and overhead utilities. Provide an alternate location if the preferred service lane becomes unavailable.

Control the loading area

Keep the area lit and clear. Decide who may load the dumpster and how prohibited material will be kept out. A lid, barrier, or monitored location may be appropriate depending on the site.

Name the pickup contact

Give the rental provider one person who can confirm access, authorize a swap, and solve a blocked-lane problem. Share business-hour restrictions and any gate procedure in advance.
